Plantronics BackBeat Pro 2 vs Go 810

The Plantronics BackBeat Pro 2 and Plantronics BackBeat Go 810 both are similar design headphones, but performance is better in different categories. The Go 810 has excellent audio reproduction, without the overemphasized bass that the Pro 2 has. The Pro 2 is more versatile since it has a better noise-canceling feature. They are also more comfortable and feel like more high-end headphones due to their build quality as compared to Go 810, and the Pro 2 can be used when charging and supports aptX-LL for minimal latency if you have the appropriate dongle.

Plantronics BackBeat Go 810 Features

Comfort

The BackBeat Go 810 headphone is slim and cozy, and it has a memory foam padding to adjust all-day comfort. The oval shape of each cup was roomy, housed my ears securely, and avoid chafing. The ear cushions felt delicate on my ears, and the headband gave enough help to keep them stable without adding any additional pressure to my skull. The BackBeat Go 810 (7ounces) is lighter than the Bose QC35 II (8 ounces). You can wear a headphone for 5 to 6 hours daily in comfort.

Design

Plantronics has a clean design that looks the same too but less premium than Bose’s and Sony’s designs. The headphones are made from plastic, metal, and silicone. The earpads are made up of faux leather that has a soft-touch feel when they’re pressed against your ears. The most striking parts are the bronze-shaded extenders, which are strong and give the headset some pop. All physical catches have their unique feel, making it simple to recognize them. The headphones include auxiliary cable, micro-USB cable, mesh travel pouch, and QuickStart instruction card. It comes in three colors – Black Graphite, Bone White, and Navy Blue.

Battery Life

This headphone has excellent battery life. This works up to 22 hours on Bluetooth with the ANC feature on and 28 hours in standard mode. That’s pretty good since the headphone lasts for up to 20 hours with noise canceling. It still not like Sony WH-1000XM3 (30 hours). It took 90 minutes to charge fully. Plantronics app to reduce ANC operation on the headset.

Noise-cancelling

The headphone noise cancellation is decent enough to block out nearby clapping. There are two modes for noise-canceling low and high. High Mode was most valuable when I was outside, and the mics picked up a lot of noise. I figured out how to quiet the hatty couple sitting close to me on the train just as wind stream from the passages. I was additionally impressed by how well it shut out higher frequencies like those from my home theatre framework. Hushing the drill noise from a close-by building site ends up being more difficult. However, I saw a snapping noise while empowering both ANC modes. However, it was nothing that pulled me away from music. The BackBeat doesn’t match the active noise-canceling performance of Bose, Sony headphones.

BackBeat App

The Plantronics app has a variety of unique features. The most useful feature is the EQ setting to personalize sound. The app lets you allow ANC levels, HD voice support for calls, and the Find MyHeadset feature to help track misplaced headphones. Plantronics keeps it simple with two modes: Bright and Balanced. The former does a great job of enhancing clarity and detail, while the latter is programmed to produce neutral sound.
