Anker Soundcore Life Q20 vs Anker Soundcore Life 2

The Anker Soundcore Life Q20 Wireless is a rather improved version of the Anker SoundCore Life 2 Wireless. The Q20 battery life is additionally improved slightly, though it doesn’t quite reach the advertised 40 hours.

People with small heads will find the Q20 more comfortable and stable than the previous version, as they seem to be a bit smaller.

The Q20 has improved ANC, which can do a far better job at blocking out both background speech also because of the low engine rumble of planes or buses. On the opposite hand, Life 2 has a better sound quality and away nicer, hard-carrying case.

Features Review of Anker Soundcore Life Q20 Bluetooth Headphones

The build quality of those headphones is decent. Just like the SoundCore Life 2, they’re mainly made up of plastic but are reinforced by a skinny metal sheet within the headband.

They need the same simple design that appears decent for a pair of budget-oriented headphones. The headphones feel dense and solid enough that they should be ready to survive a couple of accidental drops or bumps without sustaining an excessive amount of damage.

The controls of those headphones are decent. On the left earcup, it has two buttons, one button turns the power on and off, while another turns the active noise cancellation on and off. The headphones audibly confirm once you adjust the noise cancellation, and allow you to know much battery is left once you turn them on.

On the right earcup, an easy play/pause button is flanked by two-volume adjustment buttons. Double tapping the play button enters bass boost mode and holding it down summons your phone’s virtual assistant.

Next to the volume rocker is maybe a Micro-USB charging port and a 3.5mm audio jack for wired listening using the included 3.5mm-to-3.5mm cable. Overall, the Life Q20 felt a tad flimsy but pleasingly light.

The comfort of those Q20 headphones is good. While their ear cups have slightly less padding than the previous model, it isn’t noticeable while wearing them, and that they feel even as comfortable. They’re quite lightweight, and also their headband may be a bit smaller, so they’ll likely now fit people with smaller heads, just like the Anker SoundCore Life 2 Wireless.

The earcups themselves also are on the larger side, providing far better accommodation for larger ears than the overwhelming majority of competing models within the same price range.

Though people with larger ears should get some contact between their ears and therefore the padding, that padding is so soft it generally won’t create any hotspots, even after hours of wear and tear.

Sound Quality

The V-shaped sound profile of the Anker Soundcore Life Q20 is sort of excited-sounding. Their mid-range is well-balanced, but the over-emphasized bass-range will end in tons of additional thump and kick.

The Soundcore Life Q20 produces warm sound overall, with the low end getting the clearest articulation. While the low end gets highlighted, vocals still tend to sound smooth and pleasant, if slightly on the quiet side. This arrangement works well with just about any music genre.

The biggest difference is within the vocal frequency range. Premium models tend to imbue vocals with a touch more clarity and brightness, whereas the Soundcore Life Q20 can make them sound a touch more recessed and hollow.

Additionally, songs with overpowering bass can make the Soundcore Life Q20’s low end start to feel a touch muddled and messy, whereas premium models tend to stay things more buttoned-up in those situations.

These headphones also offer a bass-boost feature, accessed by a fast double click of the play button. While it certainly emphasizes the bass, it also powerly pushes everything else into the background, creating a booming but hollow sound.

Overall, these Anker headphones sound good, and their weak points are benign enough that the majority of listeners are going to be quite pleased, especially considering the low price.

Noise Cancelling

The Anker Soundcore Life Q20 has a rather improved active noise cancelling feature over the previous version headphone. The ANC on these headphones does better against the low rumble of bus or plane engines, though they still don’t do nearly as good during this range as some more costly options, just like the Anker SoundCore Space NC.

On the bright side, these headphones do a superb job at blocking out background speech, making them an honest option for blocking out chatty coworkers within the office.

Overall we found the noise cancelling of those headphones to be faraway from perfect, but plenty effective enough to permit us to concentrate in noisy environments and to chop out the sounds that might most degrade our music listening experience.

Anker Souncore Life Q20 Pairing

Pairing the headphones with a device may be a simple matter of pressing and holding the power button. There isn’t a button that permits you to quickly switch between your connected devices, but you can able to reconnect devices to the headphone without having to pair them again.

The range of the Bluetooth 5.0  headphone was excellent. As per my review, I used to roam a little more than 100 feet from my iPhone while wearing the Anker Soundcore Life Q20.

The recording quality of the Anker Souncore Life Q20 microphone is decent, and a good improvement over the previous version. Like most Bluetooth headphones, your voice will sound quite thin, but overall your voice should be fairly clear and easy to know.

Anker Soundcore Life Q20 Battery Life

I found in the review, the Anker Soundecore Life Q20’s battery life was solid, with the headset’s voice alerts assuring me that its battery capacity was still “high” even after several days of on-and-off use.

The Life Q20 claims 40 hours of battery life in normal mode or up to 30 hours with active noise cancellation activated. They also get charged quickly.

With its impressive sound quality, comfy fit, and battery that keeps going for days, the Anker SoundCore Life Q20 makes for one among the foremost great budget-priced Bluetooth headsets as per my review. They even have a moderately improved ANC feature which performs far better at blocking out speech and are slightly better at isolating out the low rumble of bus or plane engines. Their V-shaped sound profile is sort of excited-sounding, making them an honest choice for pop. Also, their battery is slightly improved and now charges quite a bit quicker, which is good.
